In the fast-paced world of elite sports, where technical ability and physical conditioning are often considered the primary drivers of success, a new paradigm is emerging, one that recognizes the fundamental role of behavioral profiling in high-performance environments.

A leader in this shift is Szabolcs Hollósi, Executive Director for Kell Egy Csapat Élmény Kft., who has been instrumental in integrating DISC behavioral assessments into the sporting landscape of Hungary.

We’ve written earlier articles on Szabolcs’ work which you can read here and here, but we’re excited to share this update on a new partnership as the integration of behavioral profile in the elite sports environment in Hungry continues to gain momentum. Szabolcs shared details with us about the recent announcement of a new partnership between Kell Egy Csapat Élmény Kft., and one of Hungary’s leading first-division football clubs.

Szabolcs is trained and accredited in the use of Athlete Assessments’ sport-specific DISC Profiling, which are recognized globally for building self-awareness, communication, and leadership capabilities among athletes, coaches, and teams. Through the announced partnership, Szabolcs is set to leverage the extensive opportunities DISC presents for developing players, coaches and team management within the first-division club. Szabolcs says,

“We are really looking forward to working with them, I’ve experienced the transformative power of DISC and am excited to see what opportunities it will create for us.”

The Role of DISC in Coaching and Team Dynamics

When Athlete Assessments’ DISC Profiling is introduced into a sports organization, it provides a powerful framework for enhancing communication, resolving conflict, and strengthening team dynamics. DISC creates a shared language that allows athletes, coaches, and staff to understand themselves and each other on a deeper level.

“One of the key features of DISC is uncovering an individual’s unique spread of strengths,” Szabolcs explains.

“Sometimes people know their strengths, other times they are unaware. To develop really effective chemistry, everyone needs to know how to access those strengths, enable them and develop them – in both themselves and the people around them.”

Professional success today is determined by much more than technical or physical preparation. As Szabolcs puts it,

“The coach-athlete relationship, the ability to adapt under pressure, and team communication all play massive roles in performance. DISC provides a practical, immediately actionable framework for building these capabilities.”

He adds, “It’s practical, sport-specific, and immediately actionable, which is why it’s a cornerstone of the work I do with individuals and teams.”

Many coaches who experience DISC Assessments for the first time often express a common sentiment:

“I wish I had known this earlier.”

“For many, the DISC opens their eyes to why certain athletes are motivated differently or respond to feedback in unique ways,” Szabolcs shares. “Athletes often feel seen and valued when they recognize their natural style reflected back to them, it boosts both confidence and clarity.”

A key realization that emerges from using DISC is that there is no single ‘ideal’ behavioral style for success in sports. Instead, different styles offer different strengths, and understanding these variations leads to improved trust and collaboration within teams.

Expanding DISC Beyond the Playing Field

The benefits and application of the DISC assessments extend beyond the club-level. The academic sector is increasingly recognizing its value, and Szabolcs has been invited to deliver a half-day training on the DISC Model for an upcoming university-level sports mental trainer program.

Szabolcs highlights,

“This initiative not only strengthens the bridge between professional and academic sports education but also reinforces my role as a thesis consultant, ensuring a deeper integration of DISC methodologies into athlete and coach development strategies.”

Such initiatives are crucial in creating a more comprehensive approach to sports training, one that blends psychology, behavioral analysis, and traditional coaching techniques.

A Milestone in Professional Accreditation

Szabolcs’s expertise in behavioral profiling and as a leader in the mental performance space has been further recognized through his official acceptance as a certified member of the Hungarian Association of Sports Coaches and Mental Trainers. This accreditation underscores the growing credibility and reach of DISC applications in Hungary.

Szabolcs’s work highlights the increasing demand for tailored behavioral analysis in elite sports, and the impact it is being seen to have. He adds,

“Whether in club management, coaching strategies, or academic training, DISC assessments continue to shape the way teams and individuals optimize performance through self-awareness and strategic behavioral adaptations.”
