FAQ's
Below you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Athlete Assessments and our profiles. Please review the questions below and click on the link to find the answer. If after reading through the FAQ's you still have a question that we haven't covered, please Contact Us. We are here to help you.
How old does the athlete or coach have to be to do your assessment?
We usually recommend that athletes and coaches are over the age of 16 years old. This is primarily driven by their understanding of the English language and ensuring that they understand the questions in the assessment. The assessment is comprehensive, yet simple but it does require a fair understanding of English. Younger athletes may be able to use the assessment but they will need an understanding of the English language the same as the average 16 year old. Please email coach@athleteassessments.com if you have a more specific question about this. If you are an athlete, refer to Info for Athletes for more information and if you are a coach, refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
Who can get access to my results?
If you have initiated the Assessment yourself, only you have access. If someone else has organized for you to take the Assessment, it is likely they will have access to the results of your assessment (i.e. if your coach has a Team Account). We have very strict privacy rules within Athlete Assessments and your results have the highest security level to access them. If you contact us, we can access your results to review, but only after you've given us permission to do this. For more information go to Info for Coaches or Info for Athletes or feel free to Contact Us.
Do I need to contact anyone on the phone or in person to set this up?
This is entirely your choice. If you want assistance then please email or call Athlete Assessments. We are pleased to assist you. You can do all this yourself also, without our assistance if you choose. Our service is completely online and you can get started straight away. Go to Order Online for more information, go to Info for Coaches, Info for Athletes or feel free to Contact Us.
What type of athlete is your service for - i.e., who is this for? Can anyone do it?
Our service is for any athlete (who has a solid comprehension of the English language so they can complete the questionnaire, we recommend over 16 years old) who wants to improve their sporting performances. Clients include high school athletes wanting to be recruited into talent identification programs and US Colleges, to master's athletes in their 50s, to professional athletes, to university/college players, male and female, amateur, professional, Olympic and elite level, fitness for fun and health people. Their interest may have been introduced through their coach or other support team member such as a sport psychologist, or from desperately needing to resolve conflict with team members, to a curiosity to learn more about themselves, or from disappointment in a recent performance. Refer to Info for Athletes for more information. From a coach's perspective, the CoachDISC profile is for any coach of any level who is keen to be the best coach they can be by understanding their preferred coaching style. Refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I'm not very computer savvy - do you have to be clever on computers to use your assessment?
Paying for and accessing the AthleteDISC or CoachDISC assessment is online, therefore you require a computer to access the assessment questionnaire and results. We have designed our service to be extremely easy to use and have tested it on lots of athletes and coaches to ensure that it is easy to complete. There are even 'tours' available once you've completed your questionnaire. This makes it easy to find your way around your own web page that is created for you. Actually, once you've completed the questionnaire, you can access your results, save and print all of the reports and supporting reference materials so you have a paper version. You don't need to use the computer again after this. You can however use your computer to further access other great features like asking others (we call them "observers") to complete a questionnaire about you as they see you. If you are an athlete, refer to Info for Athletes for more information and if you are a coach, refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
Do I have to get others ("Observers") to do an assessment on me?
This is completely up to you. You can use either the AthleteDISC or CoachDISC to do a self-perception - only you do the questionnaire or you can also get others ("Observers") to complete a questionnaire about you as they see you. This is completely up to the individual athlete or coach and they have full control of if and who they invite to do this (and there is no additional charge, it is all included in our service). Having others ("Observers") complete a questionnaire about the athlete or coach provides valuable 360 degree feedback. In our experience, athletes and coaches gain enormously valuable feedback from this review. When several Observers profile you, their feedback is anonymous and therefore honest, sometimes more so than in a face to face scenario. If you choose to have Observers complete your profile, always remember to 'regenerate' your report so the feedback from the observers after they have completed their questionnaires is updated on your soft copy report that sits online on your own homepage. Also, please note that personal comments are only included in your report if more than three observers complete the questionnaire - we do this to provide them with privacy. If you are an athlete, refer to Info for Athletes for more information and if you are a coach, refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
Can 'observers' who do an assessment on me, see my results?
No. The only thing observers see is the questionnaire they complete about you. They have no other access than this. If you are an athlete, refer to Info for Athletes for more information and if you are a coach, refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I'm a coach, and I don't want my athletes to have access to their results until I've reviewed them all. Is this possible?
If you set yourself up for a Team log in, you invite your athletes and coaches to complete their assessments (you only need their names and email addresses to do this - and our system does all the rest for you i.e. we send them an email with their individual web links to complete their assessments). At the time you invite them to complete their assessments, you choose whether they have immediate access to their results or not. At a later point, when you are ready, you simply change this access by ticking a box in your Team log in. There is a 'tour' available in your Team log in that explains all of this in very simple terms. Refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I want to buy 6 assessments on behalf of my training squad, but I'm not the coach - can I use the Team log in?
Yes - you can. You don't have to be the coach - just someone who wants to buy more than one assessment (you can buy them cheaper then too if it is more than four!). To buy more than one assessment, click on 'Set up a Team Account' under Order Online. This will provide you with a Team login and through this you can invite yourself and others to complete an assessment. Refer to Info for Coaches for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I'm confused about which website to go to? www.athleteassessments.com or www.athletedisc.com?
You are very observant! Athlete Assessments owns and uses both of these sites. www.athleteassessments.com is the site we use to provide detailed information about our services and www.athletedisc.com is the site where all of the technology that delivers the assessments is located. If you haven't done your assessment yet and want more information, stay on our www.athleteassessments.com site as there is much more information for you here. You can also log in if you have done your assessment already through this site. Actually, this site can give you all the information and provide you with all the access to our system through the appropriate log ins. Also, if you are referring others to our services, please always use www.athleteassessments.com. (However, if you are familiar with Athlete Assessments and you've done your assessment, you can access your results and log in straight from www.athletedisc.com.) Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I don't have access to a credit card and I see that you take MasterCard and Visa - I want to purchase your assessment but not sure how I can pay?
Just email or call us, we will arrange an alternative, mutually suitable payment method - please email accounts@athleteassessments.com and explain what you want and which country you are in. Our motto is to do everything we can to help our clients! Refer to Order Online for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
I don't live in Australia or the USA - which currency should I buy in?
Lots of people from around the world want to buy our assessments and they can. It is always recommended to purchase the assessments in USA $ using your credit card due to the stability in the USA $. Refer to Order Online for more information. Please feel free to Contact Us to assist you further.
